ARRAY

• pengertian array

Array adalah sekumpulan nilai data yang dikelompokkan dalam sebuah variabel. Array sendiri digunakan jika ada sebuah nilai data yang mempunyai tipe sama dan akan mendapatkan perlakukan yang sama. Misalnya kita mempunyai 100 data dengan tipe yang sama dan akan diperlakukan yang sama pula, maka lebih mudah menggunakan array dibanding 100 variabel yangberbeda.

Setiap nilai data di dalam array disebut elemen array dan masing-masing dibedakan dengan nomor indeks. Array sendiri dideklarasikan dengan cara yang sama dengan variabel, yaitu menggunakan perintah Dim, kemudian diikuti tanda kurung dan jumlah elemennya dikurangi satu (karena indeks dimulai dari angka nol)

Array adalah kumpulan data yg memiliki tipe sama, variabel yg sama dan setiap data dibedakan dengan indeks dalam array tsb.jadi bila suatu array berisi 5 buah data maka indeks maksimal dari array tersebut adalah 4. Manfaat dari array adalah untuk mengurangi jumlah variabel yang digunakan. Array dapat berbentuk dimensi satu, dua, tiga dan seterusnya tergantung kebutuhan

• mendeklarasikan dan membuat larik 

Untuk menggunakan larik di program,kita terlebih dulu mendeklarasikan variabel dengan tipe acuan yang mengacu ke larik. Larik adalah obyek. Semua obyek di Java menempati ruang memori . Semua obyek di Java dibuat (dikonstruksi) dengan menggunakan kata kunci new. Untuk membuat obyek larik, terlebih dahulu harus ditentukan tipe data atau tipe acuan beserta jumlah elemen larik.
